Elgin, Ill. - Greater Elgin Family Care Center (GEFCC) was once again recognized by The Joint Commission as a superior practice worthy of accreditation. The nation's leading body for certifying the quality of care provided at Community Health Centers (CHC) renewed Greater Elgin Family Care Center's accreditation, making just three small suggestions for how GEFCC could improve the stellar level of care it delivers to its patients. We eagerly followed that advice and proudly continue to display The Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval for at least the next 18 months. |
Needs assessment results indicate that no area dentists provide preventive and restorative dentistry to adults under 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. As a result, GEFCC secured grant funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and from the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services to expand Children's Dental Clinic from 4 to 8 operatories. Thus, on March 23, 2011, the "Children's Dental Clinic" became the "Dental Clinic" and began offering comprehensive preventive and restorative adult dentistry.
